AAC Philly Chapter Mentoring Program Training in The Gunks!

Traditional Anchor Building and Efficiency Tips for Lead Climbers - For experienced climbers looking to get out on the sharp end and improve (or start) their leading skills, we're offering a clinic on anchor building and efficiency skills. We'll cover: gear placement, extension, and anchor building; methods of belaying and lowering off the anchor; rope management and stance management, and rappelling safety tips. This is for climbers who have prior experience and are familiar with traditional gear removal, can tie the basic knots (figure eight and a clove hitch), and basic rappelling.

Limited to 8 participants on a 4:1 climber-to-guide ratio. Participants in the lead clinic will need to provide their own basic equipment (helmet, harness ,shoes) and their own basic rack - a selection of nuts, cams, carabiners, slings, and 2 cordellette, 4 pear shaped locking carabiners.
