Cochise Stronghold, AZ - Private
Cochise's Stronghold is located near Tombstone, AZ. just north of the Mexico border. Cochise offers hundreds of single and multi-pitch for climbers of all abilities. Climbing ranges from sport-climbing to long, traditional-climbing on routes involving cracks, flakes, and its reknown "chicken-heads". The routes range from easily approached climbs at single-pitched crags, to multi-pitch routes with lengths up to Grade III, providing you with many different types of adventure.
We were fortunate to receive a permit in Cochise in 2012 and have been enjoying the area ever since. We normally offer one trip in the spring - usually in March or April, and the other trip we offer in the fall - usually in November or December; allowing you to extend your climbing season when many other areas get too cold. Cochise is known as one of the few climbing areas in the US where you can climb all winter.
Cochise offers many great routes, and we offer a low climber-to-guide ratio to allow our guests the opportunity to climb as many routes as they can. Some of the classics you may climb with us out there are:
• Absinthe of Mallet
• Bee Line
• Ewephoriia
• End Game
• Forest Lawn
• Ides of Middlemarch
• Inner Passage
• Isle of You
• Moby Dick
• OK Corral
• Peacemaker
• War Paint
• War Path
• The Wasteland
• What's My Line
• and more
